With just a few weeks left before school starts in Hendersonville, various organizations organize back-to-school events, and supplies are being collected to distribute to students in the area. 

While there are still many things to do, such as sleep in and stay up late, parents should also keep an eye on the back-to-school activities happening in the area. We've rounded up a few potential events for you to check out before the kids return to class!

Back to School Bash

The Back to School Bash will be held on August 13th from 11am-4pm. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy free food, waterslides, and a variety of games. They will also have a petting zoo from 12-2pm. Children will be able to receive a free snow cone from Ali's Sweet Treats, too!

Movin' & Groovin' Back-to-School Event

On August 5, join Blue Ridge Mall for a fun-filled event that will help get you ready for school. It's happening from 12pm to 3pm and will feature various activities and entertainment. Before you leave, make sure to register for the chance to win a fantastic gift basket filled with school supplies.

Register for School Supplies with Operation Homefront

Operation Homefront's Back-to-School Brigade is a yearly campaign that provides free school supplies to children of military service members. The campaign collects and distributes these items to the kids in need. Operation Homefront's Brigade backpack program has been a resounding success, as it has provided over 500,000 school supplies to children of military families.

Take in a Show Before School - Rootabaga Express

The program's free summer plays are held every Thursday and Saturday until August 5. The performances are held at 10:15 am and feature the local Flat Rock Playhouse actors. The musical "Rootabaga Express!" is based on the children's books by Carl Sandburg.
